Color meme your color, baby, color meme your car.

I'm watching The Walking Dead's midseason premiere right now, though it could be that by the time I post this I'm not watching it any more. TWD is pretty much the only show I am fairly sure I can watch season-beginning to season-end without getting sick of weekly TV; I get TV'd out pretty fast, but nothing short of some serious shark-jumping (it happens) could quell my TWD addiction. It's quality. I love me some flawed post-apocalyptic survival drama, it's a nice break from all the Downtons and HBO Original Series of the world where the plot continges on the characters' selective muteness. You know I love Downton and Rome, but come on.

ETA: Wow, TWD, you give my heart my favorite chills.

Snagged a meme from [personal profile] metonymy:

Second, [personal profile] brilligspoons did a meme whereby she posted about seven topics someone gave her and then people commented asking for more topics, like unto the questions meme of old. I'm a sucker for this sort of thing and also trying to post more here instead of on tumblr, thus: rambling.

apples - Apples. Apples apples apples. Do I have any particular thoughts on apples? Probably not, they're sort of the inoffensive all-American fruit, of little controversy and possibly even less nutritional value. I ate them with peanut butter when I was a kid. I think they're one of those fruits that middle Americans overestimate the health benefits of because they're technically "fruit." Oh, I like the game Apples to Apples, you can force pretty much anyone to be interesting.

wanderlust - From the ashes a fire shall be woken; A light from the shadows shall spring. I'm not sure if you gave me this word thinking of me personally or not, Nomes, but either way it means a fair bit to me. I have some of the most difficulty settling into a stationary career path or the idea of a long-term relationship of anyone I know, for various reasons, but I have a particular craving to move and live different places. Or, I guess, a resistance to living in the same one. I credit never staying in the same school for more than 2 years as a kid and living in about 18 different residences: you lose your taste for familiarity, or you never really imprint on a hometown. I also pace compulsively as one of my jillion nervous habits and go out driving at night to think. Also, The Lord of the Rings, it gives me feelings.

boots - I like the look of boots, I own very few because I'm from California and am resistant to socks and the only ones I really used in Chicago were Uggs (sockfree). You know, haters gonna hate on the subject of Uggs, they are both convenient and toasty and in the -17 Fahrenheit windchill of the Windy City I challenge you to continue caring what you look like. In all seriousness, boots are one of the many New Yorker-ish fashion items I love the look of, like long wool coats and black umbrellas, but are opposed to the ever-nagging urge in the back of my mind to take as many of my clothes off as possible.

games - Games and game design in general are some of my favoritest forms of media in the world, I find endless entertainment in the play, creation, and modification of video, board, card, tabletop, IF, and other games, but they're a big time-, money-, and worst of all, space-sink, particularly console games. Moving a lot doesn't lend itself to maintaining a game collection. GameInformer was my first personal magazine subscription as a kid, though, did you know? Oh, I guess I'm picking off and on at some IF projects, one of which is an Inform 7 test project designed entirely to learn Inform 7 by programming a game dedicated to disposing of a body from a hotel room. Where did that file go?

piano - About 12 years of my life were spent doing this, I was passing fair but gave it up to concentrate on swimming, which I then gave up to concentrate on free time studies. I found out my primary teacher was a lesbian about 5 years after I quit and moved away. All that time no one told me. I didn't infer, either, despite the fact she lived with a woman; hey, tiny!me figured Sherlock Holmes and John Watson lived together well into adulthood, right? Hahaha. Hahahaha.

tattoos - I don't want one! But I do. But I don't. But I do. But I don't. But I do. But I don't. But I do. But I don't. Mostly I don't.

snow - I used to think this was the most romantic thing in the world, which is like the #1 sign you are from the West Coast and have never significantly lived elsewhere. Now I dread it and thank the Seven every day we don't get it in winter, global warming be damned, which is the #1 sign you live elsewhere.

Hit me up for topics if you like.
