Minor pet peeve of the day that I have time to bitch about because I stayed up all night

 When source material, esp. TV shows or other materials, don't specify the precise ages -- or other details -- of characters for detail freaks like me.  Because then I'm like, "if I wrote a fic I might have to name or assume an age for them."  And then I'd stress about inferring to the best of my ability.  And then later the show would name an age and I would feel like a douche with my outdated fic glaring like a douchey blinky blinker.  Never mind if I don't actually write much fanfiction and probably not about that TV show.  Douchey blinky blinker.  Blinking.

It's deeply important okay :( How am I supposed to write a character if I don't know their RH type and how many sugars they take with their coffee :(

Possibly I am tired and waiting for laundry to finish.

I'm someone who also tends to need those details or else I want to fill them in, and then I get really annoyed when I get jossed -- basically what you just said i used to do this with last names too because you rarely got last names in FF fandom and you didn't expect yourself to be jossed either except then reeve comes along with his new, stupider last name anyway
